The woman – who requested anonymity – claimed her ticket at the Sacramento District Office. She has been “working on a piece of property in Northern California” for some time, and she plans to use her winnings to finish the home on the property and move her ailing mother in. The woman has never owned a home before and is ecstatic that her prize money “will take care of everything.”
The winning ticket was sold at the CVS Pharmacy located at 625 Elmira Road and is worth $452,736.
MEGA Millions is a multi-state game, played in California and 11 other states. Players pick five numbers from a field of 56 plus a Mega number from a field of 46. Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. PST. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers.
