Temecula Housewife Claims Her Share of $380,386 Fantasy 5® Jackpot

SACRAMENTO – The Summer of Winning continues at the California Lottery, as this afternoon a Temecula resident paid a visit to their local Lottery District Office to claim their half of Tuesday night’s $380,386 Fantasy 5 jackpot – a check for $190,193.

The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, is a self-described housewife from Temecula who has been married for 45 years and has two kids – a son and a daughter. The daughter was the first person to discover that her mother was a big winner. “I printed out the winning numbers and checked them…and then I checked them again, and I screamed for my daughter,” the woman recounted. “She thought I was having a heart attack.”

As far as what she plans to do with her winnings, she plans to donate some to her church, give a little to her kids, and buy Legos for her grandkids.

Meanwhile, the other half of the Fantasy 5 jackpot from August 25 remains unclaimed. That winning ticket was purchased at Kum Luen Market, which is located at 1265 Stockton Street in San Francisco. The winning numbers are 6, 36, 32, 24, and 34.

The California Lottery wants to remind winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office (www.calottery.com/AboutUs/Locations) as soon as possible to claim their prize. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.

Fantasy 5 offers some of the best odds of any California Lottery game. A player wins the Fantasy 5 jackpot simply by matching five numbers out of a field of 39. The top prize starts at $50,000 and can top $500,000 depending on how many times it rolls over (similar to SuperLotto Plus® and MEGA Millions®). Winning numbers are drawn every day. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers (www.calottery.com/locations).

More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed nearly $21 billion to California schools out of total sales of more than $56 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.6 billion in compensation since 1985.
